Who is the FixxGlove Classic plus suitable for?

The FixxGlove Dupuytren Night Splint Classic plus is suitable for people with Dupuytren's or Dupuytren's contracture, when functional extension splinting of the affected fingers is beneficial.

It is particularly suitable when the little finger, ring finger, and middle finger should be splinted in extension overnight. According to product specifications, the model is intended for cases where extensor block in the finger joints has been surgically or non-surgically removed, as well as for Dupuytren's nodule involvement, as long as no cord formation with extensor block is yet present.

Typical areas of application may include:

  • nighttime extension splinting for Dupuytren's
  • splinting of the little finger, ring finger, and middle finger
  • application after treated extensor block
  • supportive night splinting according to medical or therapeutic recommendation
  • application after needle fasciotomy, fasciectomy, radiation therapy, or enzyme injection
  • desire for a dorsally guided splint on the back of the hand
  • preferred application with washable material

The Classic-plus version within the FixxGlove product family is the appropriate choice when a washable night splint with a dorsally guided splint is preferred.

Mode of action

The FixxGlove Dupuytren Night Splint Classic Plus is designed to keep the affected fingers in an extended position during the night. The three-part aluminum splint is located on the back of the hand and can be adjusted to the individual finger situation.

By maintaining an extended position, the splint can help prevent an unfavorable flexed position of the fingers during sleep and functionally support the achieved extension. The glove system ensures support, fit, and even positioning.

Important: The FixxGlove Classic Plus is not a dynamic splint. It is not intended to actively push the fingers into a new position, but rather to support nocturnal extension and functionally stabilize the existing condition.

Size & Fit

The FixxGlove Classic plus was developed for a comfortable fit and reliable nocturnal extension splinting for Dupuytren's contracture. To ensure the night splint can securely position the affected fingers, it should be chosen to match the circumference of the palm, excluding the thumb. A good fit supports the orthosis's function and ensures comfortable use during the night.

Size Circumference of the palm without thumb
XS up to 18 cm
S 18–20 cm
M 20–23 cm
L 23–25 cm
XL 25–27 cm
XXL from 27 cm

How to choose the right size
Measure the circumference of your metacarpus (hand without thumb) and compare the value with the size chart. After a procedure, the hand may be temporarily swollen; it is therefore ideal to take measurements before the procedure if possible.

Fit
The FixxGlove Classic plus is designed for the little finger, ring finger, and middle finger. The splint rests on the back of the hand and should support the affected fingers securely but not uncomfortably.

For intermediate sizes
If you are between two sizes, the choice should be based on a secure and comfortable fit. It is crucial that the splint fits well and reliably supports the intended positioning.

Difference between the variants
The FixxGlove models are based on the basic principle of nocturnal extension splinting for Dupuytren's contracture. With the Classic plus, the splint is on the back of the hand, the material is washable, and the model is designed for three fingers.

The FixxGlove night splints are available in different versions. Depending on the model, they differ mainly in material, splint guidance, washability, and area of application.
